Austinville June 18 1798

Dear Sir

Agreeable to promise I have annex'd an Account of Sundries furnish'd for the Illinois Adventure and Sundry debts assumed of the Work Poeple, the particulars of Which I have not sent having been very bussy, with one damd troublesome vexatious thing or other since you left. I was happy to hear although from Thompson that you were going on so well at Parrishes hope by the time this reaches you the Worst of your Journey will be over the particulars of the Illinois Account and the Accounts, of the Poeple, I shall make out and forward by the first Conveyance, or by Post in a small compass. We still continue to go on but not well our Money matters are very pressing and how to relieve them can't say. trust to Providence and our Good luck. The long Continuance of rain in this Country has fill'cl the Mine Holes so that I am afraid that we shall not be able to raise all of ore this Summer and almost ruin'd all our Corn. Bad news respecting War which seems to be inevitable God send it may prove of advantage to your undertaking I am afraid Kenner is taken as a letter from My Mother 10 Days since he has not arriv'd in which case my father will nearly be ruin'd but still hope Mrs Austin James and my father wish to be rememb'd to yourself Mrs. A and the Children Mrs and Mr. B[ates] and family Wishg you every prosperity that a Good Country and Advantagious Bussiness can aford

I am withe esteem Yours

Chas Austin.
