I have been for all the last Week so engaged in taking depositions that I have not had time to think of any Other business your letter by Mr McGahen I receid and see him at Mr James Austins and requested him to tell you that our lead was left on the road and at Grand River and that Mr Bates had given notice that unless the Lead Stephen F Austin promised arrived by the 15 Inst we could not have over 650 Cents so that I suppose I must take 650 Cents on our lead about 14 thousand was on the road this Week thus situated I could not send you the Order you requested, the furnace is again in blast and I shall push forward our lead as soon as the roads will suffer Waggons to Pass and I shall at all times feel a pleasure in doing any thing I can to help and advance your interest—tell Emily that the day she left D Hall My horse fell with me and altho not much hurt I could not return As I expected to see her leave us for Hazel Runn— I start for St Louis on Monday—I hope to finish my business at Court
