James Cummins to Captain Dickson, 11-07-1823

Summary: Concerning ownership of a dog.

Pleasant Grove November 7th 1823

Dear Sir after Due Respect to you Mr Garrett will give you this who I Recommend to your acquaintance as a Good man he tells me that Last faul Mr Buckner gave him a dog that he thought would die unless some person would take some care of him Mr Garrett took the dog and was the means of Saving his Life or he would have been killed for the neighbours threatened to kill him. Now Capt I think if you part with the clog at all Mr Garrett ought to have him as he is a poor man and has his meat to git out of the woods this year

James Cummins
