Arthur G. Wavell to Stephen F. Austin, 07-xx-1824

Summary: Asking information about the colony.

[About July —, 1824?]

Dear Austin

Let me know how you are getting on in TexasI am sorry to hear such very unfavorable reports of the state of your settlement had you kept up a constant correspondence with me when in England all your wishes would have been accomplished since I had friends who would have advanced all the cash requisite—Is the Colony healthy or unhealthy or how would it be were the land cleared away I shall expect a full detail of every thing openly and candidly since it still may be in my power to render you some assistance in your schemes What Mines have you? how do the Comanches behave? and the Indians how is your grant made, of all you demand or only a part is it full or not.—
