This Indenture Witnesseth that Stephen and Moses Austin have
this day Mutually agreed to Publish a dissolution of all their former
Partnership in the Name of Stephen Austin and C° and Moses
Austin and C° also their Partnership with Thomas Ruston for the
purpose of Closing all their concerns with the said Thomas Ruston
and it is also agreed on by the said Stephen and Moses Austin to
Carry on the Lead Mine Bussiness in Virginia under the firm of
Stephen and Moses Austin and it is also further agreed by the [sa]id
Stephen and Moses Austin that Moses Austin makes such
arrangement of their Lead Mine Bussiness in Virginia as to leave it under
the direction [of] Confidential Persons and that he proceed to the
Province of Louisianne under the Government of King of Spain
and there take up such lands Lead Mines etc and there make such
Establishment of the lead Mine Bussiness as he may find for the
Interest of the Concern and to Carry it on for the joint advantage
of the said Stephen and Moses Austin for and untill the first
day of January one thousand Eight hundred and it is to be
understood that all the Property granted to the said M Austin by the
Government of Spain in his own name or any other person of his
family to be considered as a joint Concern between the said Stephen
and Moses Austin and at the expiration of which Period to be
divided as well lands Lead Mines and all other Property wherever
situated, It is also understood that the agreement made by Moses
Austin with Francis [Vallé] Esqr and others of St Genevieve is
to be comprehended in this present agreement and that the said
S Austin allow from the net profits arising to him on the
Louisianne Bussiness Two hundred Dollars for each year for him
the said Moses Austin should the said contract with the said Francis
Valle and others take Effect, [but] if it should not then the said
S Austin shall allow him the said M Austin out of the profits in like
manner four hundred Dollars pr Annum and it is understood that all
agreements bearing date before this time is null and Void from this
day forth
