To all to whom these presents shall come:

Know ye, That Whereas it is represented to me, that Hardy Coward, a Citizen of the County of Amite, and State aforesaid, is desirous of travelling into the Province of Texas, on his own private business; I do therefore, make known to all persons whom it may concern, that the said Hardy Coward is a man of family, and of good character and conduct; and I desire that he may be received accordingly.
