Summary: Karankawa Indians.

Dear Colo

It appears that about fifty of the Keronkiweys are Coming on to attact the lower Settlement of this river and have said they would devide into two Companys and perhaps one Company May Come up the River as high as this Settlement we have determined to Collect all our familys to one place perhaps here in order to guard them which will take all the Men we Can raise in the upper Detachment of this district I think about forty Men from the Brassos and what Men there is in the lower Settlement on this River May be enough to meet them which would be well to do as soon as possible-
