Sir the Accounts of your Mexican Colony and Country wears a promising aspect here so much so that I have serious thoughts of goining you in settling it, and for that reason have taken leave to apply to you for leave to Become a Citizen by complying with your terms of settlement, if I am Encouraged I wish to Encourage three or four families to emigrate with me
this application will Be handed you By Mr. George Huff who is a first rate Blacksmith and an uncomon mechanical genius also a man of sober steady habits and great industry and having a good general knowledge of men and Business I think would be usefull to your Young Colony
A great deal depends on the prospects he has in that Country and full confidence will be given to the report given by him on his return
if his accounts are flattering there will be Considerable moving on as it is thought to be a healthy Climate and good soil for Cultivation
